Gradually, Aegean Airlines expanded its portfolio and its service to include international destinations. Throughout its impressive expansion, the airline has successfully tried to maintain its service at a high standard.

Today, the airline is a member of the ubiquitous STAR Alliance. Its main rival, Olympic Airways ceased to operate back in 2009, making Aegean Airlines Greek’s de facto flag carrier.
