Austrian Airlines is part of the Lufthansa Group of airlines and a member of the STAR Alliance. They’re a bit of mixed bag. Their network to Eastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean is great, with good coverage and frequency. Onboard catering is also very good, although not as good as it used to be.

On the down side, their cabin crew are not overly friendly. In addition, the airline’s base is Vienna Airport, which is not pleasant and not very accessible either.
