The distinction of being the oldest airline to continuously operate under the same name goes to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines of The Netherlands, which operated its first scheduled service in 1919. As you will see as you navigate through this blog, there are noticable and not so noticable gaps in the list of airlines and aircraft types I have had the pleasure of travelling with. Perhaps most noteworthy among them is Air Pacific’s venerable Boeing B 747-200, which I flew on from Nadi in Fiji to Sydney, many moons ago when I first visited Australia. Sadly, some of the airlines featured on this blog in the meantime have ceased operation. In March 2024 Air Malta operated its last service after fifty years.

Keep in mind that the airlines reviews presented in this blog are intended solely as inspiration, and not to provide reliable information about the services provided by the airlines. For that, I suggest you contact them directly.
