Return to The Pullman Hotel at Paris CDG

Introduction

I just arrived in Paris on an Air France flight from Zürich. Considering the sheer size of Charles de Gaulle airport and of Terminal 2F, it’s surprising how quickly you make progress getting from A to B. The aircraft doors open at 20h30. By 21h00 I’m already at the hotel.

The Pullman is located at Roissypole, which is the second stop on the automated train that connects Terminal 2 to Terminal 1. Roissypole also serves as the station for Terminal 3.

The Room

I’ve been upgraded to a deluxe room on the sixth floor. And as my luck would have it, the room has a view of Terminals 1 and 3 and the two northern runways.

The furniture in the room is by Ligne Roset, which is a French manufacturer. What I like about the room, is that it has a large desk to work on.

The room is equipped with an Illy coffee machine and a kettle. The soft drinks in the fridge are complimentary.

The bathroom is spacious and has a walk-in shower with good water pressure. The cosmetics are by C. O. Bigelow. The toilet is separate from the bathroom.

The view of the aircraft is great. You could spend all day in bed watching them come in (if approaches are from the East).

I order breakfast to my room. There is a QR code in the room that you can use to place your order, which is directly billed to your credit card.

The Public Areas

The lobby of the hotel is large and spacious and generally in keeping with the other buildings at Charles de Gaulle Airport. There’s also an indoor pool and a gym, but I don’t visit either one of those on this trip.

The Staff

The staff at the Pullman can be a bit hit or miss. On this trip, I’d say they fall mostly in the latter category. The girls at reception so clearly couldn’t care less, it’s not even funny anymore. I order my breakfast for 06h30, and it eventually arrives at 06h50. That sort of thing.

Conclusion

The Pullman is a nice hotel, with nicely appointed, clean rooms. It’s just a bit of a shame that the staff clearly show a lack of motivation or interest in their job and their customers. The location right in the middle between Terminals 1 and 2 is great, though, and very convenient.

  1. Nice hotel, pity about the staff——– what i’m really interested in is where next?!

  2. Looks like rather nice for an airport hotel.

How would you say that area compares to The Circle at Zurich? Or is it even comparable?

      1. Oh I meant for the non-hotel stuff, like shopping, dining, walking around, etc during a long layover.

      2. Well, you can’t really shop at The Circle. They’re mostly showrooms with a limited selection of merchandise available on site. I think shopping is far better in the mall above the airport’s railway station.

Dining options are limited. By favourite is Babel in the Hyatt. Excellent Lebanese mezze and a ice atmosphere. And there’s a hillock right behind the Circle that you can explore. From up top you have some nice views. And if you’re too tired to walk up, there’s also a funicular railway/lift.

      3. So other than the hillock, the Circle isn’t that much better that the area the Pullman is in.

  3. I normally stay at the Ibis Styles next door. Its quite ‘ok’ and also has runway and approach views.

    1. Hi Nic,
Thanks for posting. I was wondering about the Ibis Styles. Maybe I should give it a try next time. Are the rooms a decent size? I used to stay at the CitizenM, but if you’re travelling with a large suitcase, their rooms tend to be a bit tight.

      1. Hi William
Sorry, my lengthier reply got lost. The size is ‘ok’ with the included breakfast fine. It’s closer to a station than say the Mercure, with the rooms being of a similar size. Honestly, it’s a night at an airport and is good value in comparison to other properties. The only issue for you is your Accor status really only gets you a welcome drink there.

      2. Hi Nic,
That’s one thing I have noticed with Accor. There seems to be quite a bit of variability in terms of the privileges your status will get you – sometimes even within the same country. And I agree, the upgrades are great, but an airport hotel is mainly just a place to spend the night between flights.
