  1. Hi William. This brought back memories…I flew FRA-Alma Ata (as it then was) on an LH A310 in December 1992 (in economy!) for work. Yes, the seat is terrible, but your flight looks a lot more pleasant…and you were not there in winter. I have never been so cold in my life.

I sympathise with your comment about pesky passengers. I think the problem is that airports are set up incorrectly. Instead of dividing passengers by travel class, airline status, destination and nationality, all passengers should have to answer a short quiz before entering the terminal: “have you flown before”, “how many times”, “are you familiar with this airport”, “are you travelling for work or leisure”, “alone, with colleagues, family or friends”, “are there any children or elderly in your party”, etc. There is a huge difference between an experienced business traveller flying alone for work from an airport they know and the same person travelling on a multi-generational holiday to a new destination. This would allow airports to better staff security checkpoints (e.g. allocate more patient officers in greater numbers to the queues for less experienced, anxious or excited passengers). It’s profiling, but in a way which could create a better atmosphere for staff and travellers.

I can only dream…or start flying private! 🙂

  2. Your luck continues with the uncrowded airport and lounge…

Those seats are outdated, sure, but on the plus side, it is a nice nostalgia trip back to the early 2010s 😉

Wow, Lufthansa is putting in some effort into their meals, kudos for them. I know they offer extra choice online for biz passengers flying out of Germany, was that not available for this route?
