  1. You are probably aware, but just in case – a broken seat in business class generally means compensation that should equal the difference between PE/C. Knowing KLM that would generally be about 50K miles. In this case I do hope the FA formally recorded the seat issue (so that there is a record, you can always request them to do so) and your complaint after the fact can refer back to this. I would try to get compensated as this is unacceptable, imho.

What I’m not quite understanding is why you didn’t move back to the seat not having IFE? Or did klm actually put another passenger in there when moving you out, knowing that the IFE was broken?

    1. Hi Xandrios

Thanks! I’ve already written to KLM. Still waiting for an answer.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t move to my original seat because it had been assigned to someone else. Basically, they researed the Platinum passengers to the supposedly full working seats and gave the seats with the inop IFE to the non-status holders. And the flight was sold out. It was a mess. I’m concinced half the passengers on the flight were not sitting where they were supposed to be seated.

  2. The lounge redesign in Seoul looks nice. Though I do frel lounges are starting to become a bit homogeneous…

You had some really bad luck on this flght with the seats. And the attitude of the FAs seemed a bit off.

Also, on a smaller issue, it seems there was some cost cutting with the meal? The soup used to be a secondary appetizer option with the meal, but seems to have moved to being an entree. The late departure may be used as a justitfication, but it still seems cheap on KLM’s part.

    1. That’s quite true. Most lounges these days tend to be quite exchangeable. They either look like a dated hotel lobby or they’re über-gimmicky.

It’s hard to say if it was the scheduled departure time or the cost cutting with the meal. Probably a combination of the two.

  3. What a poorly handled flight from KLM. They will ignore any comments about the poor service though you should demand compensation for the broken seat and broken IE system

    1. To be fair, I think the crew who came to help with the seat really thought she was helping. It was just a bit awkward to think that I wouldn’t mind staying up all night.
