  1. A bit interesting, since Virgin Australia’s catering in domestic business class is seen as being a bit better than Qantas’.

  2. Wow, I guess this is a service upgrade for QF with the hot meal served. My last time flying them in Y between MEL-SYD about 2-3 years ago, it was just a drink (all options) and a snack. Last year I flew this route, but in J. Seems like the offerings in Y is on par (or better) with J – which was soup or veg. lasagne.
    I would have assume you have OneWorld status too, so surprised that you did not visit the newly renovated domestic QF lounge at MEL.

      I have to say, I was rather surprised to be served a hot meal on the way back from Melbourne. And I can’t quite see the point of it, either. I mean, given that Virgin will not give you anything for free except that protein stick, I would have thought that even a small sandwich or something like that would be enough to give QANTAS an edge over VA.
