Lufthansa, Business Class – Bombardier CRJ-900: Basel to Frankfurt

Today I’m on my way to Norway. I’m going from 39 degrees celsius in Cyprus to 10 degrees in Haugesund, which sound rather appealing just about now!

Boarding

We’ll start this post with my flight to Frankfurt being called for boarding. There are 68 passengers on the flight today, so it’s not a bad load.

The Cabin

I’m seated on 2F, the bulkead row on the starboard side of the aircraft.

The load in the Business Class cabin is good. There are seven rows, and I count 12 passengers.

The Crew & Service

There are two cabin crew on this flight. The more senior one speaks excellent English. To the point that I’m wondering if perhaps she’s a native speaker.

While boarding is still underway, she brings each passenger a bottle of still water. During the flight she interacts pleasantly with the passengers.

The Meal – Kaffee & Kuchen

The meal on this short flight of 35 minutes consists of a piece of carrot cake with an orange cream. It’s quite tasty actually. And the coffee is manageable. Certainly better than Austrian Airlines.

At the end of the flight, the crew pass through the cabin with Oktoberfest themed chocolate pralines.

Arrival

Very soon we’re starting our descent into Frankfurt. I only have fifty minutes, so I’m grateful for every minute.

The airport is busy. Approaches are on two of the three parallel runways, with departures on the south facing runway. I spot this aircraft next to us, which is pretty cool.

We land and then taxi to a remote stand opposite terminal 2.

By the time the engines shut down, it’s 15h12. Boarding for my onward flight starts at 15h15 from gate A50. Stay tuned…!
