Introduction
Innsbruck is a very pleasant surprise and not at all what I had been expecting. The location of the city on the bank of the Inn river, surrounded on all sides by mountains is quite spectacular.
Hotel Location
The Innsbruck Hotel is located right on the fringe of the old town. The entrance to the hotel is on a main road that is quite busy. Luckily, my room is toward the back of the hotel, overlooking a quaint and quiet little square.

I’m slightly concerned by the water level of the Inn than by the traffic noise. The heavy rain has caused the river to swell considerably, so that the water is just a few alarming metres below road level.

The Hotel
Das Innsbruck is a moderately sized hotel. On the ground floor there is a small lobby just off to the left from reception that leads into the bar area. In the evenings it’s quite lively, especially with the European championship on, but still it’s quite civilized.

Dining
Behind the bar is the restaurant. I only have breakfast there, but if I understand correctly, it’s also open during the day for lunch and dinner.
The breakfast spread is rather nice. There’s a buffet with a good selection of hot and cold dishes, and further options are available on request. They are included in the price for breakfast/in the room rate.
There’s plenty of waiting staff at breakfast, and they’re great – making sure all patrons are kept in a steady supply of tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

The Room
My room is on the third floor. As previously mentioned, it overlooks a small square out back. I have the windows open for most of my stay, and I can hear the hum of voices from the pedestrians outside. However, the windows are pretty much sound proof when closed. The room also has air conditioning.
I enter the room into a short hallway. On my right is the wardrobe area.

Straight ahead, the hall opens into the main area of the room, with the bed on the left and a desk and swing on the right.

There’s a kettle and a safe in the room, but no fridge.
The Bathroom
The toilet and bathroom are separate, and located opposite the wardrobe area. The cosmetics are by a no name brand. However, they smell exactly like the fairtrade shampoo and shower gel that they used to have in some of the Novotels.

Conclusion
I rather enjoy my stay at Das Innsbruck Hotel. The hotel is not luxurious by any means, but I think they’ve done a good job in giving it a local touch, from the staff’s uniforms at check-in to the pictures of the mountains in the rooms. I also rather like Innsbruck as a city, and wouldn’t mind coming back some day.

Hi William——Nice Mid class hotel. The first few pictures didnt inspire me, but as you continued i liked it. Shame about the weather—–did it improve?. The UK is having a Mini heatwave due to end on Saturday, then its downhill—— this year virtually no summer.
